Battlestar Galactica 2004 series (.97)

I was fully aware a lot of folks thought this show was really well made as it was airing but I decided to put it all off because my hatred for the original Battlestar Galactica series was so nasty as to prevent me from giving this a chance. Well, the newest series is excellent. The evil Cylons have destroyed mankind and now they also look like humans and have infiltrated the remaing fleet of 50,000 humans. Drama ensues. The original series was a notorious Star Wars knock off and reeked lame seventiesness out of it's pores. This latest version is high quality writing, directing, acting, effects; it's the full package. This was one of the few shows that could give consistent high quality entertainment every episode and still leave a cliffhanger that would make you need the next episode. The only downside is the occasional annoying facial quirks of some of the cast... which doesn't count for anything. Oh wait, the real only downside is that it's Battlestar Galactica. I really like taking something shitty and rebooting it as something awesome but it also serves as enough of a reminder of the original episodes that it's a distraction from the goodness of this series. Thinking of what a hot dog used to be doesn't stop a hot dog from tasting good, but it does put the thought of ground up crap and guts into the back of your head... so minus a few points. (.97)
