American Pickers .87

I didn't think that I would actually like this show when I first heard the concept. Two guys traveling around the country looking through other people's junk sounds a little boring. However, it is actually a decent show. Mike and Frank own a company called Antique Archaeology which buys pretty much anything old and then sells it off to whoever wants it. They meet some pretty interesting people along the way and find some cool stuff tucked away in people's barns and basements and seem to make a fairly healthy living doing it. I mean some of the stuff they buy for between $20-$50 and then sell it for hundreds or even thousands! I think what really makes the show good though is the relationship the two guys have with one another. They constantly make fun of each other and nothing is off limits. What will really make you laugh though is the terminology that seems to only exist among "pickers". When I first heard Mike say, "I'm gonna pop on this," I thought he was going to need a wad of tissues or something. Of course, it means that he is going to buy something! Part of the appeal of the show is that it is mostly a treasure hunt. You are constantly waiting to see what the next priceless artifact they find will be. It airs on the History Channel which has produced some quality programs recently. Pop on it! (.87)

I agree with what Jeff said. What makes this show is the chemistry between these two guys. Classic!
