Game of Thrones  is a new miniseries on HBO chronicling American author George R. R. Martin's "A Song of Ice and Fire", an epic series of fantasy novels.  I am currently reading the first novel in the series and so far everything matches up nicely.  The novels are 800 page monsters, but HBO is trying to cram as much material into each episode and do the series justice.  Game of Thrones is not quite Lord of the Rings and not quite Dungeons and Dragons, but it has found its own niche.  Fans of medieval epics will enjoy this series and settle in nicely.  The first episode was rich with betrayal, conspiracies, family struggles, a beheading, and even some incest.  If the first episode is any indication of the rest of this series, then it's gonna be awesome.  (.92)
