This falls short in that it's not as badass as Conan has the possibility to be and at the same time it is no better than the original Conan movie with Arnold. This is essentially an episode of Xena with better special effects, more gore, and worse acting. The dialogue is awful and the acting is horrible and the script is boring action movie barf. There are enough Conan elements in there to make it work but for every Conan fun fact they throw in they end up changing something else and nullify that authenticity. The only plus this movie really has is some pretty good gore special effects with noses and fingers chopped off, but yet again that is scratched clean by the television quality fight scenes. This would have been an awesome on going tv series if this was what it was, however this was a movie and it's weak. (.70)

Soooo long and boring. The world is coming to an end and Kirsten Dunst is depressed, the end. This is a movie that would be life altering if you happened to watch it during the one or two times in your life that you'd acually be completely in the zone to watch this. One would need to be both painfully depressed and at the same time curious and alert to enjoy this movie, which makes it unlikely. There are many beautiful images and many emotions are portrayed excellently, but seriously it's boring. If they make a half length version of this it might actually be a great movie, but every scene is dragged out with painful silences and pauses until you are no longer interested in watching a movie. A flip book of images taken from the movie would be more entertaining than having to watch the whole thing. Great visuals, great acting, difficult to take seriously because of it's unpalatable boredom. (.70)

Hunter S. Thompson tale with Johnny Depp once again in the lead. This is a completely different animal from Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas and I get the feeling that a good deal of people are going to be walking into this movie expecting the same ride. This one is a lot more chill, subdued, and restrained. Unfortunately I think it's restraint also took some of the bite and edge out of the attack. There are moments of great lines and bared teeth that don't fit with the casual flow of the rest of the movie and the movie as a whole has a weak feel. I liked the time period and the subject matter for me personally, but it comes across as too realistic in a boring way at times it needs to be entertaining. Not great, good enough if you like the vibe. (.78)

Doctor Who was a pretty solid show for 26 seasons when it suddenly lost its appeal and was canceled back in 1989, but it was brought back to life in 2005 and continues to entertain after six years. The show follows a man simply known as "The Doctor" as he travels through time and space in his time machine known as the Tardis, which is basically an old-school police call box. The Doctor is the last of a race known as The Time Lords and he now spends his never-ending life saving the galaxy and doing whatever he can to make it a better place. He has taken a keen interest in Earth and seems especially attracted to Earth women as he chooses one every so often to travel with him. The first season wasn't that great, but it formed a good starting point for the next few seasons. The show is pretty funny and entertaining. You get some time travel, aliens, cool weapons, interesting political commentary, and some pretty funny dialogue. At times The Doctor is a little too goofy and "slapsticky" unfortunately and the episodes are resolved and wrapped up too easily. I'd like to see some more serial stories and more developed conflicts. However, we are seeing some reoccuring enemies here and there. I am interested to see where this show ends up now that it is in its sixth season. It's definitely worth a look. And for the record, David Tennant is the best doctor thus far! (.90)

Science teacher with cancer becomes a crystal meth kingpin. Best show. Amazing writing, insanely good acting, great casting, great directing. What else? Whoever is holding the boom mic is doing a great job too. It's all top quality across the board. Every episode is solid and every episode makes you need to watch the next episode. If there are other shows as good as this let me know. (1.00)
