PS3 Wizardry: Labyrinth of Lost Souls (.73)
Saturday, September 3, 2011 at 11:12AM This ones a toughy. Wizardry has been around from the beginning and if you know it and you love it than this will be great for you. So A+. But... it can be hard, that may scare some, but more importantly is it comes across as more time consuming than challenging, so B. The graphics and game play are archaic, you can call them "old school", but if you love old Wizardry than this still works great. There are other games that keep an "old school" feel while still giving you something fresh and there wasn't much fresh going on, most of it has the feel that someone made it at home with an Rpgmaker program. The last of it is hit or miss on the audience. For me old school Wizardry has a definite D&D feel and look, over the years as Wizardry has faded in the USA the series has flourished in Japan. Now the majority of the artwork and sound bites are anime'd up. That should be up my alley but for a darker, time consuming, dungeon crawling, slow, boring in an adult way kind of game the anime/manga art used makes the whole thing feel a little more immature. Respect for the lineage and old school feel but if you're not gonna kick it up a notch than I'll just play the originals. (.73)
