XBox 360 Zumba Fitness (.68)

Zumba Fitness is one of the launch titles for the Kinect on Xbox 360. The only people who should get this game are people who already do live Zumba classes and for some reason are trapped in their homes now. Essentially a "latin" flavored Jazzercise with some semi classic dancemoves, this is of no interest to people who take their dance seriously, like me obviously. On the other hand it is complex enough that people who are beginners at aerobic dancing will never progress and simply stay beginners. There are numerous glitches and load errors and all the halmarks of being a launch title on an untested new peripheral. The tutorial function skips over important instructional information and jumps from "march in place" to "follow this professional dancer perfectly as she goes all out" without much explanation. The music is repetative and like many other new Kinect games the menu systems are annoying and time wasting. If you're a Zumba fanatic than this is a must have but for most everyone else it will simply a constant reminder while you play it that you can't "Zumba" and this game won't help you. Maybe someday it'll be cleaned up but for now go to the gym, and also the majority of the dances are effeminate and are clearly targeted at a female audience. (.68)
