Final Fantasy IV (.99)

Released in the US on the Super Nintendo as Final Fantasy 2, FFIV is one of the best rpg's ever made. Following Cecil the Black Knight and his change into Paladin, all the classic Final Fantasy elements are wrapped into this one. I usually hear from people that 3 on the snes was better, and I think that one is more popular, but Final Fantasy IV seems to have a more serious edge to it that draws you in more. Playing is a midway between the modern FF's which are very linear and early FF's which are more of a make your own party and wander around system. The music is top notch, the characters are some of the best of the FF series, and the game gives a good balance between story and traditional rpg monster fighting. An element that stands out is it's ability to create an epic feel and handle events on a grand scale (which most FF's do) and at the same time delve into the characters personal problems on an intimate scale, which is dealt with immediately in the game as you realize you might actually be playing a character who is the bad guy. Remakes have been made and have mainly added better graphics and short cgi cut scenes. (.99)
